Porto Maastricht friendly football match in Ramalde

Veteran players of a football team from Maastricht in The Netherlands visited Porto this past weekend. The main goal of the visit was to get to know the city and play a match against a local team as well. Porto City Hall prevailed 6-0 at home. Despite this score, the Dutch team affirmed "This year we came to Porto and played a match against a city team of Porto. It was a good match especially from the Porto team".

Porto City Race explores pedestrian routes of the 1800s

The seventh edition of Porto City Race explores pedestrian routes of the 1800s and the city Historic Centre. The event will take place earlier than usual, from 21 to 22 April. The starting pistol will be fired at 10 am, respectively, from the Gardens of the Palácio de Cristal and the Trindade Metro Station.

Porto City Race Pedestrian orienteering competition is scheduled for April

Registrations are now open for the 7th edition of Porto City Race, a pedestrian orienteering competition scheduled for 21 and 22 April, and the starting signal will be at 10 am. The first stage of the race will be on April 21, and it will score for Portugal's Cup of Adapted Orienteering.

São Silvestre Race on 30 December: registrations are open

The 24th Edition of S. Silvestre Race takes place on 30 December. The competition comprises two distances: 10 km and the 5 km walk with non-competitive purposes. The start of the race is scheduled for 6 pm in Avenida dos Aliados and participants will run along the most important streets of Porto.

Porto Football club Estádio do Dragão awarded by energy-efficiency of its premises

The "Estádio do Dragão" received the 2017 EDP Electrical Power and Environment Prize for service buildings. The award was delivered by Vice-President of Porto City Hall, Filipe Araújo, in a ceremony held at the Convento do Beato, in Lisbon.

Run-up to Porto Marathon

Porto Marathon is held 5 November and registrations are open. As in previous years, Porto marathon gathers thousands of athletes of all ages. In 2016, the event brought together 15,000 athletes.

Porto Granfondo is expected to gather thousands of cyclists

The Porto Granfondo is expected to gather thousands of cyclists on the banks of the River Douro, Sunday morning, 29 October. This bicycle touring takes place on open road and in a festive atmosphere. This sport discipline is for the second year running included in the official schedule of the Portuguese Cycling Federation.

Physical fitness in the gardens of Palácio de Cristal

Under the Municipal Programme "Dias com Energia" (Days with Energy), people are invited to take up new sports such as Pilates, Yoga and Tai Chi, 21 October in the gardens of Palácio de Cristal.

Pedestrian Orienteering Race gathers European Athletes in Porto

As 22 September draws closer, the 6th Edition of the Pedestrian Orienteering Race, under the European City Race Tour, is expected to feature athletes from 20 countries, including Brazil, Russia, Norway, United States of America, New Zealand or Israel. This competition is also meant for beginners with no experience in this type of sport, ranging all ages and able to explore the town in a sportingly manner.

More than 13 thousand athletes will run the Porto Half Marathon

International and national elite athletes of the sport will take part in the 11th Edition of Porto Half Marathon. The race starts at 10 am by the river Douro and it will gather over 13 thousand runners, Professional and amateur athletes of different ages, from 41 countries.
