Porto International Meeting will take place in June in the swimming pools of Campanhã

The first weekend of June sees the 34th edition of the Porto International Meeting in the Campanhã swimming pool complex. This is the final qualification event to the Absolute European Championship, which will take place in Scotland, Glasgow, between 3 and 9 August.


The main swimming tournament is held annually in Porto and is back on 2 and 3 June in Campanhã.

This competition is organised by the North Swimming Association of Portugal (ANNP), jointly with the municipal company PortoLazer.

The Porto International Meeting 2018 includes the first edition of the Portuguese-Andaluzian Competitive Swimming Circuit
. The registered athletes' list is not fully complete, but some of the athletes that will compete are Tamila Holub, Olympic swimmer from Sporting de Braga, who will swim 100, 200, 400 and 800 metres free style. 

The reigning European champion 100 and 200 metres butterfly style, Katrine Villesen (Aalborg Svømmeklub) will also compete in this tournament.

The North Swimming Association of Portugal (ANNP), also stated that the Porto International Meeting 2018 includes not also the top national swimming clubs, such as FC Porto, Sport Lisboa e Benfica, Sporting Clube de Portugal and Algés e Dafundo, but also the participation of the Spanish teams Santa Olaya (eight swimmers), Real Canoe de Madrid, Club Deportivo Universidad de Sevilla (ten swimmers) and Real Club Mediterráneo (three swimmers).

From Italy, there are the Lombardy teams, with 16 swimmers and debuting team of Vittoria Alata Nuoto, which will feature 13 swimmers in Porto.
