Porto will have Night Watch Guards in the city’s streets
The Municipal Executive has unanimously approved the implementation of a night watch guard services, which would extend to the 11 areas in the Historic Centre, as well as in Ramalde, in Lordelo do Ouro and Massarelos. The extension of such services are under consideration.
Porto City Hall promotes mental health care among its collaborators
Porto City Hall launched a programme to raise awareness on the issue of mental health among its collaborators, which is especially relevant in the ongoing pandemic context. Last week, it was time for the Municipal Police to undergo the workshop, at Almeida Garrett Municipal Library. “The current framework [of Covid-19] accentuated and exposed even further the importance of taking care of people’s physical and psychological health, with common and concerted responses”.
Severe weather warning for the weekend
The Municipal Civil Protection has issued a warning on adverse meteorological conditions will start as of this afternoon. As a result of the worsening of weather conditions, starting this Friday, 19th February, car traffic is to be halted at Av. Dom Carlos I, in the seafront. Traffic is prohibited starting at 9 pm. Restriction to circulations is to be lifted as soon as weather conditions permit. The situation is re-assed on 20th February.

Rui Moreira places Municipal Police resources at the disposal of the PSP
The Mayor of Porto City Hall, Rui Moreira will make available all Municipal police and logistical resources to the Metropolitan Command of the Porto Public Safety Police (PSP), starting at 12 o’clock midnight today. The goal is to unite efforts of both police forces in fighting the pandemic.
