The acceptance of the donation of the 30 ventilators to treat Covid-19 patients to Porto City Hall by the Jack Ma Foundation is one of the items in the working agenda for the Municipal Executive meeting on 27th April.

Rui Moreira visited the Porto Firefighter Station and the Municipal Police today, after welcoming the National Director of PSP (Public Police Authority), Magina da Silva. To all of them, Mayor Rui Moreira said "thank you".

The new Official Animal Assembly Centre is set and running in Campanhã, next door to the Municipal Greenhouse, as of early this week, the last animals were relocated in this facility.

This year, due to the pandemic and the Emergency State, the celebrations to mark the 1974 Revolution and the end of the dictatorship will not take to the streets, but the commission urges people to chant from windows.

By the end of this week, all retirement homes, institutions that accommodate people with disabilities and shelter homes to the homeless in the city of Porto (official, formal, legal or illegal) will have been tested to the new coronavirus. In total, the city of Porto has tested 4.554 people of 87 institution within this programme, set up by Porto City Hall and unique in the country. The project is supported by hospitals and health centres, as well as a private foundation that offered test kit...

The municipal company Porto Ambiente developed communication materials to raise citizen's awareness on how to properly dispose of garbage, namely the storing of garbage outside waste skips.

Porto City Hall determined that the containment measures announced by Mayor Rui Moreira on 13th March, to fight the current pandemic, remain in force till 2nd May. These restrictions measures are therefore extended for the same period as the Emergency State announced by the President of the Republic. Municipal public attendance services are available via digital services and phone.

The i3S Health Innovation Prize third edition is aimed at researchers and entrepreneurs that come up with "breakthrough solutions" to fight the Covid-19 pandemic. Applications should be submitted till 27th April.

As expected, the Mission Hospital Porto., set up by Porto City Hall with the support of several entities and companies, is treating Covid-19 patients for two days now. Today, five more patients, with mild symptoms of the new corona virus infection, are due to arrive at this Mission Hospital, sent by the Hospitals of Santo António and São João.

3500 people have already been tested in the city's retirement homes, namely the elderly and respective caretakers, and although the testing programme will continue for more days until everyone is tested, Porto City Hall has extended this programme to institutions of citizens with disabilities and the homeless, with the support of Health Centres in Porto.
