TEDxPorto organisation delivered more than four tons of food and other essential items to Porto City Hall, this morning. These items were raised under the project "Porto Unido", to help fight the current pandemic.

6.750 protective suits, 11.700 masks, several ICU monitors, thermometers, one ventilator and ventilators consumables were donated by Chinese businesspeople to Porto. The protective suits and masks were delivered in the Field Hospital, set up at Super Bock Arena - Pavilhão Rosa Mota, and the other supplies were sent to Hospital de São João, by Porto City Hall.

Águas do Porto recommends that all clients follow the guidelines regarding empty buildings and water sitting in pipes during the Covid-19 lockdown. These guidelines were issued by the Water & Environment and Services Regulatory Authority for Water and Waste (ERSAR).

Mayor of Porto, Rui Moreira issued an Order to renew the preventive measures in place to fight the current pandemic till 10th May. This means that this period is extended 10 days after the Emergency State is lifted. Rui Moreira sees this as "the necessary period to pursue a gradual, phased return of workers to municipal facilities and services", as "there is no effective solution to treat the disease just yet".

The return to normalcy is phased and demands that everyone has special attention to comply with the civic behaviour, which some people have disregarded lately. This means also that peole must follow the new rules for social distancing.

A true army of volunteers is helping stem the spread of Covid-19 at the Field Hospital "Porto.", which came into operation on 14th April. TV Station SIC went to the hospital to see how things are running. Watch the report here.

The Municipal Executive convenes next Monday, 27th April, via videoconference and one of the agenda items is the 80 thousand euros support to the two voluntary fire brigades in Porto, the Real Associação Humanitária dos Bombeiros Voluntários do Porto and the Associação Humanitária de Bombeiros Voluntários Portuenses.

In addition, it shares information of interest for citizens and companies.
