Porto City Hall determined that the containment measures announced by Mayor Rui Moreira on 13th March, to fight the current pandemic, remain in force till 2nd May. These restrictions measures are therefore extended for the same period as the Emergency State announced by the President of the Republic.

Municipal public attendance services are available via digital services and phone.

"The city of Porto was swift to act with the approval of the Internal Contingency Plan for Municipal workers and municipal facilities as early as 2nd March 2020", as stated by the Order of the Mayor of Porto, signed on Friday, 17th April.

Considering that the evolution of the pandemic in our country "confirms that the control measures were adjusted, these measures should be continued, without prejudice to further guidance".

Porto City Hall was the first in the country to cancel performances and concerts, public places and spaces, as well as the implementation of a Contingency Internal Plan for municipal workers and municipal facilities, such as the closing of all fairs and markets and municipal teleworking whenever doable, on 13th March.

Rui Moreira highlights that the Municipality of Porto shall continue to "ensure the maintenance of all essential and necessary services to the city of Porto, by remote working or by shift rotation or staggered timetable", safeguarding preventive measures issued by the DGS.
