"Sunwheel", collective project by Moradavaga designed for the festivities of São João 2016, at the invitation of PortoLazer, is nominated for the BIGMAT'17 International Architecture Award, in the Ephemeral Architectural category.

In just over one week, Porto Book fair will feature a vibrant, intense and international cultural programme, to be held in the refurbished gardens of Palácio de Cristal, from 1 to 17 September. This years' edition, the fair will honour Portuguese Poet Sophia de Mello Breyner Andresen. The literary universe of Sophia will be revisited by means of spoken word sessions, debates and exhibitions.

Three eastern short films will be on show on 23 August at Restaurant Árvore (Cooperativa Árvore), under the "Boris Nights" warm-up preview programme for BEAST - International Film Festival, organised by Porto cine club, to be inaugurated in September.

Just music, no labels or genres that are forged and shaped by life experiences, past and present; rather, the focus is to transform thoughts, concepts and images into sound.

From September 11 to 17, Porto will play host to the Porto Photo Fest. This international photography meeting features masterclasses, workshops and exclusive dinners with the best international photographers.

Group exhibition titled "Endless Space: Propositions for the Continuous" is on show at Silo Auto in Porto until 29 October. The exhibit features seven objets d'art scattered through the seven floors of the building (a parking lot) that prompt a shared reflection on the role and the boundaries of architecture.

The opening concert of Porto PianoFest Festival pays homage to Olga Prats. Pianists Artur Pizarro, Alejandro Oliva, Nuno Marques and António Victorino de Almeida will pay tribute to the 65-year career of pianist Olga Prats in Casa da Música.

Painting exhibition "sussurro e effacement", made of paintings by Rosário Forjaz and Jean-Jacques Maho, at Galeria Porto Oriental, ends Saturday with a jazz performance.
