Three eastern short films will be on show on 23 August at Restaurant Árvore (Cooperativa Árvore), under the "Boris Nights" warm-up preview programme for BEAST - International Film Festival, organised by Porto cine club, to be inaugurated in September.

This is a free access session, starting at 10 pm, featuring "Ballkoni", directed by Lendita Zeqiraj in Kosovo in 2013. The 20-minute short film, was shot in one single scene that revolves around a conversation of two people that gossip about a boy sitting in a balcony.

The second short film, themed "The Flavours Collection" (2013), by Igor Cobileanski, is a 14-minute film, winner of the Best Film at the Prague Short Film Festival in 2015.

This Romanian-Moldova co-production tells the story of Victor's mother. She is ill and in desperate need of medication. How far would you go when your mother is sick and you don't have money?

The final short film of "Boris Nights" is "Fragments" (2014), by Polish Aga Woszczynska. Throughout the 25-minute short film, a collection of apparently unconnected scenes describe the end of a relationship. Anna and her husband have well paid jobs, intense sex and they exercise every morning. It is a comfortable dull bourgeois life. Anna is falling apart, little by little.

This initiative is the warm-up of the first edition of BEAST, to be held at Porto Municipal Theatre, from 21 and 24 September, which will be devoted to Poland.
