In just over one week, Porto Book fair will feature a vibrant, intense and international cultural programme, to be held in the refurbished gardens of Palácio de Cristal, from 1 to 17 September.

This years' edition, the fair will honour Portuguese Poe, Sophia de Mello Breyner Andresen. The literary universe of Sophia will be revisited by means of spoken word sessions, debates and exhibitions. One of the highlights of this homage is the baptism of one of the imposing linden trees with Sophia de Mello Breyner Andresen's name, as in previous years with other reputed figures of Portuguese Literature.

Book launches, meetings with writers and relevant national and international guest speakers, readings, discussions as well as theatre, films, music and exhibition are part of the vast cultural offer of this major literary event in the city of Porto during this 17 days in September.

For four years running the Book Fair has been organised by Porto City Hall in the Palácio de Cristal Gardens. The Fair will present 130 exhibitors from various fields of publishing and brands. It is the perfect meeting place for the publishing industry and the public, providing a privileged platform to discover old and new books and engage in the world of literature from its liveliest side.
