The Puppet Theatre "A Tarumba" features the performance "Este não é o nariz de Gógol..." (This is not Gógol's nose?), 21 October in Rivoli. The show is based on Gógol's world (reminiscente of Godot) and Jacques Prévert. The play takes place in a kitsch ambiance, which relies on paper jointed figures and objects to translate the surreal and absurd world we live in.

Starting at 6 pm, there will be a role play of the tale "Apollinaris, the adventurous bat" and then a field trip to watch and hear bats. This is an excellent opportunity to dispel myths about this nocturnal flying mammals and get to know a bit of their living habits.

The film "Porto" by Gabe klinger premieres in theatres nationwide 19 October. US-based Brazilian filmmaker shot the film in the city of Porto in 2015. It is the first feature-length film to be directly sponsored by Porto City Hall. The movie was awarded in the La Biennale di Venezia Festival and has contributed to put Porto in the world cinematographic roadmap.

Air Europa, from Globalia Group, increases seat capacity between the city of Porto and the airline's hub, in Madrid. As of 30 October, according to Turisver Online, the airline will operate a new aircraft, which nearly doubles the number of passengers carried between these two cities.

FINDE.U Job Fair is an International Job Fair organised by Porto University, jointly with UTAD (Trás-os-Montes & Alto Douro) and Vigo Universities, in cooperation with IEFP / EURES Portugal and EURES Crossborder Galicia North of Portugal. The Job Fair will take place in Exponor, from 17 to 18 October from 10 pm to 6 pm.

The Porto Best Of cycle takes the stage to iconic artists of Porto who revive their debut and most influential work in light of present time. Each night, Porto Best Of shares the stage with new creations from the city. Rivoli will play host to a concert by Clã and Best Youth at 9.30 pm, 19 October.

The 8th Edition of the Running and Walking for Bone Health took place Sunday, 15 October in Porto. Overall, hundreds of people took part in the 10 km race and in the 5 Km walking with the aim of raising public awareness of osteoporosis and bone health.

The October edition of the street market "Flea Market" takes place this Saturday, 14th in Francisco Sá Carneiro Square. Between 2 pm and 7 pm, about 200 sellers display all types of second-hand items in the square gardens.

The Moroccan air carrier announced today that the route Porto-Casablanca, resumed in June this year, will have three return flights a week for the winter flight plan. The air-fare starts at 185 euros, on return journeys, tax included, the airline said in a statement.

The University of Porto (U.Porto) is among the 100 best universities in the world in five research areas, with regards to scientific production, namely Civil Engineering, Agrarian Sciences, Pharmacology and Toxicology, Mechanical Engineering and Chemical Engineering, according to the Performance Ranking of Scientific Papers for World Universities 2017, from the National Taiwan University.
