The film "Porto" by Gabe klinger premieres in theatres nationwide 19 October.

US-based Brazilian filmmaker shot the film in the city of Porto in 2015. It is the first feature-length film to be directly sponsored by Porto City Hall.

The movie was awarded in the La Biennale di Venezia Festival and has contributed to put Porto in the world cinematographic roadmap.

The film was produced by the multi prized American cinematographer Jim Jarmusch and Portuguese producer Rodrigo Areias.

Originally titled "Porto, Mon Amour", the film tells the story of two foreigners, American Jake and French Mati, who briefly meet in Porto and experience a short but intense intimate relation.

The film features Anton Yelchin, Lucie Lucas and Portuguese Paulo Calatré in the leading roles. The lead actor, Yelchin, died shortly after the shooting of the film in a tragic accident in June 2016.

While shooting "Porto", Director Gabe Klinger, whose initial choice to shoot this film had been Athens, stated that "Porto is timeless, it is allure with narrative and culture", emphasising that that was one of the reasons to shoot the film in 16 mm, 35mm and super 8 format.

"When we turn the camera on, it is possible to find ourselves in the 13th century, the 15th century, the 18th century and the 19th century. This is a film about characters that explore the archaeology of time in their lives. It is a city that allows this consideration of intervals in life trough different times", Klinger explained.

The film "Porto" has featured the most important international film festival competitions, in addition to the worldwide premiere in the San Sebastián Festival, in Spain in September 2016. The preview happened in Portugal, two months after, in Rivoli, open to the public, also attended by the leading actress and Director, as well as other members of the film production.
