Louise Bourgeois at the Serralves Museum

The Serralves Museum hosts the exhibit by Louise Bourgeois (Paris-1911 to New York – 2010), until 20th June. The display spans her work, featuring seven decades of Bourgeois’ oeuvre between the end of the 1940’s and 2010. Her artwork has been displayed in several museums all around the world, with exhibits that deal with sensitive topics from her childhood, such as family, sexuality, the body, the mind, death and the unconscious, which she has healed and exorcized through her art practice.

Presidential candidates offer compliments to Mayor Rui Moreira

The Mayor of Porto, Rui Moreira, welcomed two candidates to the Portuguese Presidential election that will take place the coming year. Vitorino Silva visited today the Mayor at the City Hall, just a few weeks from the visit by candidate Ana Gomes. They both went to the City Council to offer their compliments.

What’s on regarding photography in Porto? The MIP gives you the picture

The MIP’s 3rd edition, which is coproduced by Porto City Hall, was scheduled to take place in April, but owing to the ongoing pandemic, it inaugurated in the end of October and it extends until the end of the year. The organisations involved in this 3rd edition are: Espacio Jhannia Castro, Espiga, Galeria Adorna, MIRA FORUM, OPPIA, Salut au Monde! and The Cave Photography.

Three researchers from Porto make it to the 2020 list of highest cited researchers

Portuguese scientists have been spotlighted by several scientific bodies of research. Many of those lead their researchers from Porto. The “Highly Cited Researchers” 2020 index, by Clarivate Analytics, an American company that has acknowledged over 6.100 researchers, from 60 countries and regions, in 21 fields of research.

The “Adventário” is now available on video! Time to rewind holly stories with Ágora

The project “Adventário”, which translates as the Calendar of the Advent, was organised by the municipal company Ágora to bring the magic of Xmas to everyone’s homes during December. It is now available on video. Well-known personalities told Christmas stories each day, from 1 to 24 December, at 9.30pm. Time to check them out! Enjoy!

Launched tender to rehabilitate the Quinta do Mitra next to the Terminal of Campanhã

The public tender for the rehabilitation of the Quinta do Mitra was launched on 21st December. Proposals are taken until 23:59’ of 26th January 2021. The goal of the project is to rehabilitate the outdoor enveloping area, as well as the inside space of the Quinta do Mitra, transforming it into a large public space, easily accessible and as an extension of the urban park that frames the future Terminal Intermodal of Campanhã. The municipal investments amount to circa 1.2 million euros.

“Fórum do Futuro: Vita Nova” is available as of 28th December

This year the Forum of the Future (Fórum do Futuro) was not held, owing to the ongoing pandemic. The announcement was made last July; however, the organisation also announced that there would be a book edition to mark the seventh edition of the Forum of the Future. The publication “Fórum do Futuro: Vita Nova” is available as of 28 December. It is free and it is made available at Rivoli.
