Presidential candidates offer compliments to Mayor Rui Moreira

The Mayor of Porto, Rui Moreira, welcomed two candidates to the Portuguese Presidential election that will take place the coming year. Vitorino Silva visited today the Mayor at the City Hall, just a few weeks from the visit by candidate Ana Gomes. They both went to the City Council to offer their compliments.

As any time there are elections, the Mayor of Porto opens the City Council’s doors to welcome the candidates to elections that wish to offer him their compliments. The first meeting took place just a few weeks ago, when candidate Ana Gomes visited Rui Moreira, early December, and today it was time to welcome Vitorino Silva. Both candidates were welcomed to the D. Maria salon.

On 9th December, the jurist, diplomat and former European Member of Parliament Ana Gomes met with Mayor Rui Moreira and was accompanied by the municipal member of the Assembley of Porto, Tiago Barbosa Ribeiro.

Today, on 29th December, aka Tino de Rans, pavior by trade and former local councillor, met Rui Moreira. He had already run for election in 2016, and obtained 152.374 votes.

The Portuguese presidential election is scheduled for 24th January 2021.
