Porto celebrates European Week of Sport with free activities! #BeActive

The European Week of Sport kicks off today and runs till 30th September, under the motto #BeActive. The Municipality of Porto joins the initiative, alongside other European participating countries. The goal is to promote a healthier lifestyle and to raise awareness on the importance of practicing sports. All activities are free, but registration is mandatory. See here for further information.

Free skate classes continue on weekdays and weekends till September ends

Skating lessons continue throughout September, following the strengthening of the number of free sessions that kicked off in July, which were extended in August. Skaters are still able to profit from these free classes both on weekdays and weekends at the Skate Park de Ramalde, namely on Mondays and on Thursdays, between 5.30pm and 7.30pm, and over the weekend, every Saturday and Sunday, between 10am and 12 noon, weather permitting.

Praia International do Porto welcomes the top-notch surfers of Portugal, between 18th and 20th September to take part in the crucial second round of the Liga Meo Surf 2020, a qualifying stage for the National Championship, under the Renault Porto Pro, which is one of the highpoints of the Porto & Matosinhos Wave Series 2020, of the surf contest calendar.

Walk around Porto and enhance your knowledge of the city's iconic sites

Porto City Hall, via the municipal company Ágora and Runporto joined to organise the initiative themed "Porto Saudável" ["Healthy Porto"] with the goal of taking participants through iconic places in the city of Porto, whilst boosting their wellbeing. Today is the last day to build on your skills with the free skate lessons at Ramalde Sports Park. This is the last Monday of an intense and largely attended initiative by Porto City Hall, via the municipal company Ágora. Classes only take 12 participants simultaneously, and are scheduled to take place between 5.30pm and 7.30pm.

RallySpirit 2020 confirmed for 22nd and 24th October with adequate pandemic control measures

"Exceptional times call for exceptional rallies", thus goes the motto for this year edition of the RallySpirit, which will take place between 22 and 24th October in Barcelos, Gaia and Porto. On week days, sessions take place between 5.30pm and 7.30pm. Saturdays and Sundays, free classes are always between 10am and the strike of noon.

Take your mask, set your route - downtown or in the banks of the river Douro - and prepare for wellness at its best. Every weekend, there is a route with two timetables at disposal. This initiative goes on till October next.

Choose your walking trail in Porto and discover the city while improving your fitness

The motto is "Uma caminhada à descoberta da cidade", which goes like this in English: "A walk to discover the city", and it refers to an initiative by the municipal company Ágora and Runporto to provide five kilometre journeys through Porto each weekend, with journeys at 10am and at 10.30am. The goal is to walk through iconic places in the city while improving one's fitness. The first walk is set for 9th August. It sounds good, right?

Monte Aventino is being retooled to become one of the best tennis venues both at national and European level

Monte Aventino is extending its indoor tennis courts with a 3200 square metres nave, with three indoor tennis courts, also adding a fitness centre, a physical therapy room, changerooms, technical offices and tennis court seating for 100 people, as stated by Ágora Porto.
