Porto is the city of choice for European Erasmus students. This mobility programme promotes learning and the personal and professional development of young university students. At the Erasmus Generation Meeting, Europe's largest student conference which took place in Spain, the Invicta was chosen over Istanbul, Nicosia, Sofia and Seville.

The president of the Erasmus Student Network (ESN) Porto made a statement confessing the feeling 'that our efforts have been recognised'. Vítor Bizarro guarantees that, 'as volunteer students, we will continue our hard work to make Porto an ever more welcoming city'.

'We want all international students to feel at home, to continue to choose our Porto and to take back to their countries all the good memories that the Invicta gives them', says the head of the organisation that supports more than three thousand international students in the city, helping them achieve a better cultural, educational and social experience but also carrying out various activities to support local communities.

During the four-day conference, more than a thousand ESN volunteers from various countries discussed the future of mobility, with a focus on digitalisation, sustainability, inclusion and democratic participation.

The recognition of the best Erasmus destination is an initiative of the Erasmus Student Network, in partnership with the European Commission, and aims to 'identify best practices in supporting student mobility and highlight the role that local student associations play in making cities better destinations'.
