The Porto. News team takes you in a special outing through the history and culture of its historic parishes, from Cedofeita, to Sé, Miragaia, São Nicolau, Santa Maria da Vitória and Santo Ildefonso.

The first locally based Entrepreneurship Program was launched on January 10th by Porto City Hall and the Youth Foundation. This programme has a two-fold aim: to promote entrepreneurship among young people in the region and to promote business ideas.

An innovative plan to plant trees in public spaces was presented today at Porto Municipal Tree Nursery. There are 14 new areas, the so-called Biospots, distributed along the main roads, in a total of 17 hectares.

"The Age of Shadows" by Jee-woon Kim, is the screening opening of the Festival. The festival programme focus on the subject-matter of Fantasy and the so called reality cinema, showcasing feature films, short films, animation and experimental film, from February 20 to March 5, 2017.

Eric Weiner, author of The Geography of Bliss, writes a regular column for BBC Travel. Eric writes about the "world's happiest places" and, guess what, Porto is one of those places.

Alumia project was launched to mark 20 years of Porto Historic Centre as UNESCO World Heritage. The project had challenged artists to provide a different night visit to the city historic centre by means of light and shape. The community has responded with huge enthusiasm.

Another year, another season dedicated to contemporary art in Miguel Bombarda Arts Quarter. Throughout 2017, the Bombarda galleries will continue showcasing Art with new exhibitions six times a year.

The building of the old Prison and Court of Appeal of Porto, headquarters of the Portuguese Centre of Photography since 2001, will be reclassified as a National Historic Monument.

The Serralves Foundation, in Porto, will host the 9th edition of The Green Project Awards on January 23, in Serralves. Porto City Hall organises the event in conjunction with Lipor.

On Epiphany Eve (also known as Twelfth Night), Porto Social Foundation offers a musical show featuring Christmas carols associated with Epiphany, at Quinta da Bonjóia, on January 5, at 9:15 pm.
