The Hebrew incunabulum in the Synagogue in Porto is the topic of "An Object and its Discourses per Week"

The initiative "An Object and its Discourses per Week" that will take place 18 November will refer to a religious Hebrew document and will be held under special conditions in the Synagogue in Porto. The event is entrance free upon ticket presentation.

Campo Alegre features "The End"

Campo Alegre Auditorium features, 17 and 18 November, the project "The End (final draft)" by Estrutura (Cátia Pinheiro and José Nunes) and by artist and filmmaker André Godinho, who shared the making of the show.

Exhibit at the City Hall foyer celebrates 75 years of existence of Coliseu Porto

The exhibit "O Coliseu e a Cidade: 75 Anos de Histórias" [The Coliseu and the City: 75 years of stories] opens today at 6.30 pm at the Town Hall foyer. The display is inspired by the Modernist artist Piet Mondrian, and features Modernist elements that are part of the Coliseu Porto acquis, and from the Municipal Archive and the Portuguese Photography Centre collection, some made available to the public for the first time.

Vertical Gallery at Silo Auto opens its fourth exhibition

"Rhythm of Distances: Propositions for the Repetition" is the fourth project to be presented at the Silo Auto Gallery. The exhibition opens 17 November, starting at 9.30 pm and will be on display on the seven storey staircase of the municipal parking lot, featuring the work of seven artists.

Exhibition at the City Hall marks the 75th anniversary of Coliseu Porto

The closing ceremony of the Coliseu Porto 75th anniversary celebration will take place at the town hall foyer, 15 November at 6.30 pm. Recalling the most emblematic artists who helped build both the history and the legacy of this iconic stage of the city of Porto, for three quarters of a century, the exhibit "The Coliseu and the City: 75 years of stories" is entrance free and will be on display until 19 January.

Season-ending of Simultaneous Openings at Bombarda Arts Quarter

Miguel Bombarda Arts Quarter has ended the 2017 season 11 November with the sixth and final cycle of "Inaugurações Simultâneas" [Simultaneous Openings]. The "Inaugurações Simultâneas" at Miguel Bombarda district, sponsored by Porto City Hall (through Porto Lazer Municipal Company), jointly with Bombarda Art District, will return in January 2018.

Virginia Woolf's Orlando is revisited on stage at Carlos Alberto Theatre

"Orlando", a novel by Virginia Woolf is revisited in the monologue "Grande Vaga de Frio" [wave of cold weather] which will be on stage at Carlos Alberto Theatre, from 10 November to 19 November. A drama by Luísa Costa Gomes, directed by Carlos Pimenta and interpreted by Emília Silvestre, this play marks a meeting with the adventures of a poet who changes sex from man to woman and lives for centuries, meeting the key figures of English literary history in a satiric form.

More with less: architecture as a social act

New York based activist, poet and artist Mykki Blanco will be at Palácio do Bolhão (ACE), 6 November at 7 pm under the Forum of the Future event that runs from 5 to 11 November.

Cycle Imagined Real World Imagery - IRI featured at Almeida Garrett Library

Imagens do Real Imaginado [Imagined Real World Imagery] (IRI) - Photo, Cinema and Media Cycle is already an established tradition at Almeida Garrett Municipal Library. The 14th edition is held from 30 October to 4 November, organised by the Departments of Imaging Arts and Multimedia of the Escola Superior de Media Artes e Design, a school of the Porto Polytechnic Institute.
