Trengolas and barrels of fun at Porto Book Fair

Sunday, 6th September, is also the day to enjoy circus arts at Porto Book Fair, under the Trengolas initiative, and that will be a barrel of fun. Starting at 5pm, the "Trengos à Solta" of the Companhia Erva Daninha, make sure that everyone can have a laugh near the "Ilha", the structure inside the lake, next to Super Bock - Pavilhão Rosa Mota, which is prepared to host literature events, as well.

The collective Circolando unfolds its celebratory year with the performance "20.20" that takes to the stage at Teatro Carlos Alberto, on 3rd September, "marking 20 years of existence, of partying, perspiration, and fragments and memories, which overflow from the bodies on stage".

The Water Pavilion: free entry to children is extended till 11th September

By the time September arrived, both children and grown-ups were already convinced that the Water Pavilion is a must go place for holidays and weekends alike. The furore led to that institution extending the offering of a ticket at the Water Pavilion, for children up to 12 years old, when purchasing another adult ticket every Thursday and Friday for the first half of September.

Porto Municipal Theatre season launch is one to watch on 8th September

The Teatro Municipal do Porto (TMP) resumes its activity on 17th September, six months after the lockdown due to the pandemic. Nevertheless, as early as 8th September, the 2020/2021 season is officially presented at the Grand auditorium of Theatre Rivoli, at 7pm. Entrance is free, but previous ticket collection is mandatory. The session will comply with the health measures in place, issued by the DGS.

Cultura em Expansão brings cinema and street theatre to Porto this September

The "Cultura em Expansão" is back on 4th, 5th and 6th September, with three outdoor shows. This new calendar of activities features 38 performances till the end of the year. Also, there are new rules to comply with.

Ernst Ingmar Bergman, the Swedish director, writer and producer deemed as one of the "greatest artists of the Twentieth Century", produced and directed over sixty films and documentaries for cinema and television, which include films such as Sommarnattens leende (1955), The Seventh Seal (1957), Wild Strawberries (1957), Persona (1966), Viskningar och rop (1972), Scener ur ett äktenskap (1973) and Fanny and Alexander (1982).

Caricature exhibition conveys a message of peace and tolerance

The Alameda Shop & Spot inaugurates a virtual exhibition themed ""Nelson Mandela da Caricatura Internacional", on 1st September. The exhibition displays 40 caricatures in the framework of the international competition PortoCartoon-World Festival. This is a tribute to the Nobel peace laureate of 1993, Nélson Mandela, and it is especially relevant to convey a message of tolerance against racism.
