Another 1200 student residence units in the city reaffirm Porto as a student housing hub

Student accommodation in Porto will be enhanced, with two university campus inaugurating in Asprela: the Miranda Oporto, which will start running in the beginning of the school year, and the Liv Porto – The Street, which will be concluded in 2022. The investment in the university campus is by Valeo Management Europe, of the American group Valeo.

747 applications received under the Porto Solidário support programme to target housing problems

Porto Solidário municipal programme received 747 applications between 19th January and 15th February. Thus far, 319 applications have been approved, of which 289 have already been granted support for a period of 24 months, worth 198.70 euros per application, on average. The analysis process is ongoing.

Asprela is to provide 280 apartments for coliving, cohousing and coworking in 2022

The traditional real estate market is changing, with different approaches to living, working and socializing. Student’s residences can meet these changes as a place to live and to work. That concept is starting to take shape in Porto with Smart Studios construction of 280 rental apartments already commencing. The endeavour is targeted at students and young professionals, and offers meetings rooms, dining rooms, study and lounge areas, gymnasium and also fitness and yoga spaces.

Deadline submission for rent support municipal programme extended to 15th February

Applications to the 9th edition of the Municipal Programme “Porto Solidário” are extended until 15th February. This programme is targeted at granting economic support to economic vulnerable households regarding house rent or purchase. This economic relief can go up to 350 euros per month. Municipal programme applications to target housing problems “Porto Solidário” open on 19th January

The ninth edition of the Municipal Programme “Porto Solidário” opens on 19th January. This programme was established in 2014 and it is essential to guarantee the right of housing to the most vulnerable households. This Social Emergency Fund by the Municipality of Porto has already supported 2.336 families. Applications should be submitted at the Domus Social site, which includes filling a form and attaching the required documentation.

Renovation of Tenant Office to provide greater comfort and deliver capacity

The Porto Municipal Tenant Office has undergone renovation works and it satisfies both comfort needs and operational goals as regards public facilities functional functions. The space has kept the annual average of 70 thousand consultations, despite the ongoing pandemic, much due to the digital attendance procedure, embraced by the Municipality of Porto to overcome constraints and to be able to cope with tenants needs.
