The auditorium at Campo Alegre Municipal Theatre hosts a poetry session in the context of the cultural programme "Quintas de leitura" [Readings on Thursdays], scheduled to begin at 10 pm on 22 February.

This event is sponsored by Porto City Hall.

Golgona Anghel, a Romanian poet and writer based in Portugal, is considered one of the most challenging and critical talents of her generation, and will delight poetry lovers on 22 february at Campo Alegre, under the motto "Floribunda, minha querida, vim desligar-te das máquinas" [Floribunda, my dear, I've come to shut down your life support].

Golgona Anghel's poetry goes "against any trace of pathos, against those who like to lick wounds and taint the horizon with melancholy, poetry keeps on deferring the end and its fateful tone, nourishing unimportant details, turning the wait into the antechamber of laughter and the guffaw into its sound track. Any subject, any place will do. For the verse doesn't arise to celebrate them, rather to constantly divert them. Instead of settling someplace, the task is to try to get out."
