Porto, one of the most vibrant cities in all of Europe, hosts the 28th Ecsite Annual Conference bringing together 1,000+ science engagement professionals, from Thursday to Saturday, at Centro de Congressos da Alfândega do Porto, from 15 to 17 June.

This conference is organised by the Natural History and Science Museum of the University of Porto and Ciência Viva.

By hosting such an event, the city of Porto again shows the world and the country itself that "Porto is a city where innovation, science, technology and entrepreneurship take place, transforming reality and leading the way to the future", as Councilman for Innovation and Environment, Filipe Araújo, has highlighted during the welcoming reception of participants held at Porto City Hall this evening.

Themed "Life Everywhere", this Ecsite conference, the largest of its kind in Europe, offers three days of conference sessions, two days of pre-conference workshops and a busy networking and social events programme and it is open to anyone interested in science, in global sustainability of life in our planet and our existence at large.

Filipe Araújo also added that this is an "important issue" and that Porto is strongly committed to participate in the friendly discussion on "the building of a strong and cohesive European society".

In the context of the conference, Mariano Gago ECSITE winners will be announced, an award that recognises and rewards the best projects linked to science and museums.

Registration is still possible on site.
