Go alfresco in Porto great outdoors, as the Municipality of Porto is installing sports equipment in 18 green spaces in the Invicta. It is a fact that physical activity in natural green outdoors promotes better quality of life and improves health.

The main goal of such an endeavour by Porto local government is to make sure that everyone has the perfect and suitable outdoor exercise equipment to keep a healthy lifestyle, for free. These sort of outdoor gyms will be located in 18 parks across the city. There will be fitness equipment, similar to indoor fitness equipment and bio healthy maintenance circuits.

This municipal prescription for better health can be found in the following sites in the city of Porto: Castelo do Queijo, Jardim do Calém, Parque da Pasteleira, Palácio de Cristal, Jardim Machado de Assis (Foco), Praça dos Álamos, Jardim Sarah Afonso, Jardim de Ezequiel Campos, Jardim Paulo Vallada, Jardim do Conhecimento/ Alameda Eça de Queirós, Jardim de Arca d'Água, Parque infantil da Areosa, Jardim de Belém, Parque de S. Roque, Praça da Corujeira, Avenida da Cidade de Xangai, Parque infantil de Cervantes, Parque do Covelo.

This is the result of a public tender launched by Porto City Hall, in October 2020, via the municipal company GO Porto - Gestão e Obras do Porto. The contract was given to Bricantel – Comércio de Material Eléctrico de Bragança, SA, which won the public tender. The municipal investment exceeds 640 thousand euros.

The Municipality of Porto takes this step forward to improve the life quality of residents, namely the enjoyment of green spaces. The development of the endeavour can be followed through the GO Porto website or the phone 228 339 303.
