The Essence of Wine comes of age and is back at the Stock Exchange Palace in Porto

The 18th edition of Essence of Wine is back at the Stock Exchange Palace in Porto from March 31 to April 3. For four days, more than four thousand wines will be represented and there will be 50 thematic actions.

In 2021, the event took place later, in July, in a completely different format: outdoors, in the Crystal Palace Gardens. All because of the pandemic context, that existed at the time, and which required capacity restrictions, mandatory testing and a strict safety and hygiene plan to be complied with by all visitors.

This year, the Essence of Wine returns to its place of origin and of always. For four days, consumers and professionals in the sector will be able to appreciate, at the Stock Exchange Palace in Porto, nectars from 400 producers (domestic and foreign). Many of the wines will also be “under the eye” of an international entourage of experts and journalists.

In this edition, which reaches the age majority of the event, there is also an intense program of parallel actions – commented tastes, conversations, harmonizations. Among them, we highlight the election of the "TOP 10 Portuguese Wines", a taste that will feature an international jury.

Created in 2004, The Essence of Wine quickly asserted itself as the most prominent event in Portugal, aimed at the consumer and which, over time, has attracted increasing interest from professionals in the sector. Through the Stock Exchange Palace in Porto, an increasing number of curious and wine lovers, experts and international guests have proven and praised the concept of the event.

Tickets can be purchased online or at the event venue. Participation in commented tastes and harmonizations is subject to the associated price conditions and available capacity. Participation in the “Conversations About Wine” will be free, but subject to the available capacity.
