Take note: online voting for Best São João Window Competition runs from 9 to 21 June!

One way of celebrating São João can very much be the voting on your preferred São João Shop Window under the S. João 2021 Shop Window Competition. Applications for Best São João Window, in the following categories “Best Window Friend of the Environment” and “Best Shop window elected by the Public” concluded on 2 June. Now it is time to have your say as regards the Best São João Windows in town, as there will be a voting by the jury and a voting by the general public, which run from 9 to 21 June.

This contest is promoted by Porto City Hall, in partnership with the Porto Traders Association (Associação de Comerciantes do Porto), and the initiative’s main goal is to find out which shop windows best celebrate the São João Feast, a deeply rooted tradition in the Invicta. There will be three awarded windows: the winner wins a prize Money of 2.250 euros, the second podium place gets 1.750 and the third receives 1.250 euros.

Also, passers-by are invited to choose their preferred window via online voting, from 9 to 21 June, through a QR Code, displayed by each window shopping under the competition. This will be the first year that there will be an online voting for the “Best Shop window elected by the Public”. The public has the opportunity to choose their preferred shop window by voting through a QR Code included in each shop window identifier.

The competition also features the symbolic award of the “Best environmental friendly shop window” and honourable mentions form the 4th to the 10th ranked places in the list.
