Rui Moreira visits an art museum signed by the Japanese architect chosen for the conversion of the Slaughterhouse

As part of the visit to Japan and in particular to the city of Nagasaki, the Mayor of Porto visited the Nagasaki City Hall Museum of Art, designed by architect Kengo Kuma, who signed the project to convert the Campanhã Slaughterhouse, in partnership with the Porto architects' office OODA.

At the site, where he was received by the director and curator of the museum, Kosaka Satoko and Kawaguchi, respectively, Rui Moreira, accompanied by the Chief of Staff, Vasco Ribeiro, can glimpse the urban transformation operated in that eastern part of the city, by the trait of a renowned architect, also the author of the Tokyo Olympic stadium.

The museum is a modern and spacious complex located near the port of Nagasaki, opened in 2005. It contains permanent art collections related to the city, as well as a large collection of Spanish art, with works from medieval times to the present day, including renowned artists such as Picasso.
