Picnic on the grass at Casa das Artes this weekend

No, this isn't about Manet's painting nor Renoir's film, but rather the announcement of a perfect gathering for the entire family, at the gardens of Casa das Artes, on 8th September.

If you wish to get away for a final blast of sunshine, whilst enjoying familial get-togethers and good vibes with friends, Casa das Artes is the place to be this coming weekend.

September can be blissful before returning to the daily work-classes routine. A family outing in the leafy and strongly English inspired garden invites for an afternoon tour, or a relaxing moment on the picnic mantle.

Participants are invited to bring their picnic baskets or they can try out the numerous gastronomic options available at the food and drink stands prepared for the occasion.

This year, the main attraction is Johnny Hooker, the new revelation in the modern Brazilian music and activist and defender of equal rights for members of the LGBT community.

This is his premiere in Portugal, featuring his newest album "Coração".

Participation in the event costs 12 euros and children up to twelve are admitted free.

This event is jointly organised by Sister Ray producer and the North Region Directorate.
