The editions “Livro Moldura Porto.” and “Catálogo de Fotografias Porto.”, both with graphic design by the Studio Eduardo Aires, have been granted the “Gold” award at the Graphis international prizes, in New York.

In the framework of the Annual 2022 Graphis Design, the book “Moldura Porto.” and the “Catálogo de Fotografias Porto.” were recognised in the “Print Books” category and in the “Print Catalogues” category, respectively.

Both publications are the outcome of a photographic contest promoted in the Municipality of Porto about the Invicta. The number of applicants reached the 832 candidates, and a total of 2225 photographs, and the outcome was the organisation of these two publications: the catalogue, which includes all pictures accepted in the competition, as well as a book featuring the best of work presented as selected by the jury, shaped into a special framed print format.

Graphis was founded in 1944 by Walter Herdeg and Dr. Walter Amstutz in Zurich, Switzerlan, and later moved the headquarters to New York City. This international publisher of books on communication design annually presents and promotes the best submitted work in Design, Advertising, Photography and Art/Illustration, which are then selected for following categories: Best Platinum, Gold, and Silver awards.

It is worth recalling that the rebranding of Porto Municipal Theatre and the identity of the Bolhão Temporary Market, which were developed by the Studio Eduardo Aires, have been distinguished at the International Design Competition Graphis Awards 2019.

Moreover, the identity of the City Museum won the Silver award at the International Design Competition Graphis Awards, in 2018. The award falls under the Branding Category, and corresponds to attributing the Silver Graphis Award. The identity was designed by the Another Collective.

In turn, the muppie campaign by Porto City Hall to raise awareness on the importance of complying with the preventive measures regarding the fight against Covid-19 has been distinguished at the International Design Competition Graphis Awards 2021 with an honourable mention.
