Over 500 programmers, entrepreneurs, startups, policy-makers and investors have participated at the FIWARE Global Summit, which was held at the Stock Exchange Palace, under the debate on smart cities, industry and agriculture, running from 5th to 11th May.

The goal of this week was to establish oriented-solutions aimed at developing solutions in targeted areas, involving the "internet of things" and Open Data, with participants from several countries.

The Deputy Mayor of Porto City Hall and also councillor for Innovation and Environment, Filipe Araújo delivered a lecture on "Porto Building Bridges for a Smart Future".

This event was organised by FIWARE Foundation, jointly with ScaleUp Porto, promotor of the Start & Scale week.

Also worth pinpointing was the event held on 9 May, the "Scaleup for Europe Conference - The City as a Market", which enabled setting up new technologies, assessed from a market perspective.

Today, 10th May, the highlight is the Doing Business event at the Stock Exchange Palace, an opportunity for major tech companies to network with a view to possible synergies.

The Start & Scale 2018 ends tomorrow, 11th May, with several initiatives and the closing ceremony, as usual.
