Porto City Hall will host a Conference on Human Rights themed "Direitos Humanos - Quo Vadis?" [Human Rights- Quo vadis?] on 10 December.

The main goal of this event is to mark the International Human Rights Day and the 70th anniversary of the proclamation of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, on 10 December 1948.

The conference will be held at the Town Hall, at 9.30 pm and it is entrance free.

"Human rights are the basic rights and freedoms that belong to all of us, from birth until death. Rights inherent to all human beings, regardless of race, sex, nationality, ethnicity, language, religion, or any other status", as read at the United Nations Website.

This debate on how these basic and fundamental human rights are cemented and defended today will gather a panel of participants and commentators at Porto City Hall that includes the Mayor of Porto, Rui Moreira, the radiologist physician Manuel Reis, Clinic Director of GAER and Catarina Santos Botelho, Law professor of the Catholic University and researcher at the CEID and at the RSCASE (Réseau Académique sur la Charte Sociale Européenne et Droits Sociaux).
