Sunday afternoon, 29 September, Porto joins other 700 cities all over the world with the Distinguished Gentleman's Ride, the main goal being the fund raising for a common and noble cause: prostate cancer and men's mental health.

The Movember Foundation organises this event every year. It first started in 2012, when Mark Hawwa, inspired by a picture of Don Draper (Mad Men), thought it would be a good idea to dress his best suit, put on a tie, and ride his vintage motorbike (to break the prejudice against bikers) and in a chivalry way raise money to support prostate cancer research.

The idea has proven to be excellent and tradition now says that participants have to dress up and ride a classical or vintage motorbike through town to raise awareness on important health issues.

Porto first joined this movement in 2014, which is held on the last Sunday of September, and the parade starts in Queimódromo, with the ignition scheduled to be turned on at 2 pm and kick off at 3.30pm.

Beyond of being charitable, this classical and vintage motorbike ride is also a fine moment to enjoy the values of gentlemanly qualities, goodwill, solidarity and companionship.

The public at large will have the opportunity to watch up and close these lovely machines in the "pit stop" organised at Praça General Humberto Delgado, in front of Porto City Hall, between 4pm and 6pm.

Online registrations are open. Ride before September ends.
