The celebrations to mark 30 years of Puppet Theatre in Porto kick-off today with the performance "Fausto", staged by Roberto Merino, in honour of the company's founder, João Paulo Seara Cardoso (1956-2010).

The celebration programme spans the whole year, with the presentation of the most iconic performances in the company's history.

The play premiered in 2015 and was based in the original play by Christopher Marlowe. The funding was obtained through crowdfunding at the PPL Digital Platform, raising about 2.600 euros.

"Fausto", will be on stage at the Teatro de Belomonte till 4 February, with sessions from Thursdays to Sundays.

This play sets the beginning of the celebrations to mark the 30 years of the theatre company, which was established in September 1988 and debuted at the Mondial des Théâtres de Marionnettes Festival, in Charleville-Mézières, France.
