The book on cuisine titled "À Moda do Porto", "Eating a la Porto" in the English language version, has won the national stage of The Gourmand World Cookbook Awards.

These awards were founded in 1995 by Edouard Cointreau and each year they honour the best food and wine books, printed or digital, as well as food television worldwide.

Chef Hélio Loureiro coordinated the preparation of the book, with the quality mark of Porto City Hall and Livraria Almedina. The book is now competing with editions of other countries for "The Best in the World" Award.

The book titled "Eating à la Porto" in the English version language, was released last April and presents the most traditional recipes of Porto, and also recounts stories and curiosities on the city's flavours.

This editorial project has the contribution of some of the most reputed chefs in the city of Porto, namely António Vieira, Camilo Jaña, chefe Cordeiro, Inês Diniz, João Pupo, Luís Américo, Marco Gomes and Rui Paula, who have shared their recipe inspired by Porto.

The Gourmand World Cookbook Awards presentation ceremony will be held on 26 and 27 May in Yantai, The "Wine Capital" of China.
