BEUYS by Andres Veiel premieres on 8 February at Campo Alegre Municipal Theatre

The German film by Andres Veiel is an archive-based film that offers insights on the life and art of Joseph Beuys. The film premieres on 8 February at Campo Alegre Theatre.

The movie debuted at Berlinale 2017 and it is good at showing how the artist marketed himself. The film is a collage of images and sound material, with the camera zooming into individual frames on giant contact sheets, with new scenes springing to life arbitrarily from each still. "Each man is an artist" Beuys, the artist would proclaim.
