EDreams Odigeo is continuing its growth process and plans to hire 500 professionals over the next three years. With a tech hub operating in downtown Porto, the Spanish online travel giant believes that the city is its priority for growth.

In a statement, the agency confirms that it intends to “increase its global workforce by 50%” and emphasizes that the hub in Porto, inaugurated in October last year, will be, alongside the similar space in Milan, the focus of the growth strategy.

The first phase of this recruitment will be launched later this year and foresees the hiring of 200 people to boost the technology, product, and innovation teams, this way “allowing the company to further develop its own technological platform and the vast range of travel products and services it offers”.

“To maintain our robust growth,” says Dana Dunne, general manager of eDreams Odigeo, “we are looking for the best international talent to help us revolutionize the market and continue to guide technological innovation in the e-commerce sector.”.

At the time of the tech hub’s inauguration in Porto, Dana Dunne already saw the city as "a strategic place to capture the best talent that Europe has to offer". The Spanish company landed in Porto in 2020.

In addition to being the largest online travel company, owning 261 websites and apps related to travel, eDreams Odigeo is one of the largest European e-commerce companies, due to the merger in 2011 of the eDreams and GO Voyagese agencies, in addition to the acquisition of Opodo.

With over 17 million customers annually, in 45 markets, and listed on the Madrid Stock Exchange, it is the creator of the world's first customized travel subscription service, Prime, which, according to the company, “grew 182% and exceeded 2.4 million members” in the last 12 months.

“We are on an exciting journey to transform our company and reinvent the consumer's travel experience,” believes eDreams Odigeo.
