This museum exhibition in Serralves has the works and the films

The work of Pedro Costa will be on show at the Serralves Museum from 19 October till 27 January.
Visitor's imagination will be fuelled by the oeuvre of Pedro Costa, as it combines other artworks, namely sculpture by Rui Chafes, photography by Paulo Nozolino and filmmaking by Danièle Huillet, Jean-Marie Straub and Chantal Akerman. 

Also on display are works of art that were part of Pedro Costa's films, of poet Robert Desnos, photographers Jacob Riis and Walker Evans, painters Pablo Picasso and Maria Capelo, or even works of art which belonged to director Robert Bresson, António Reis, John Ford, Jacques Tourneur and Jean-Luc Godard.

All is set to honour one of the most prestigious contemporary Portuguese directors.

The exhibit is coordinated by Filipa Loureiro and Marta Almeida, and José Neves is in charge of the architecture.

The core theme being cinema, what best way to complete the exhibition but a cinema cycle? The Pedro Costa exhibition also features the screening of the films "O Nosso Homem / Cavalo Dinheiro", on 20 October, presented by Pedro Costa, "Casa de Lava" and "Juventude em Marcha", on 21 October and "No Quarto da Vanda", on 28 October.

The book "Pedro Costa", by Carlos Melo Ferreira, by Edições Afrontamento, will be released in the exhibition.

The exhibit is on show at Museu de Serralves from 19 October till 27 January, from Monday to Friday (10 am-6 pm) and Saturday and Sunday (10 am -7 pm).
Entrance costs €10.
