The day is 23rd August and you might as well set the date as of today: it does not get better as the weather up North turns out to be shifting to pleasant sunny days and Ágora- Cultura e Desportos municipal company has prepared another great street event for all ages and tastes.

These joyful and outdoor activities have taken to the streets in Porto for about a month now, and this next Sunday residents and visitors to the Invicta are invited to regain public space. Between 9am and 7pm, expect rainbows and sunbeams to enliven your day because these entertainers, scattered all over three temporary pedestrian areas in town, are in the business of making you enjoy the most of your Sunday.

All activities are access free, with limited attendance capacity and are carried out in line with the health preventive measures defined by the DGS.

Mornings are devoted to bike lovers and in the afternoon there will be street theatres and puppet shows that will make the wonders of grown-ups and children alike.

PROGRAMME

Praça de Alegria Futebol Clube and the colective Ócio suggest a city cycling trip, starting at 9am at the Praça de Alegria Futebol Clube. The Ciclo-Oficina kicks off at 11am and provides tips on mechanic workings, or on how to use a bicycle around town, among other tips. The morning concludes with a group lunch and a talk among participants.

4am-7pm | Av. Rodrigues de Freitas | EZ Sub

The EZ Project invites passers-by and street goers to navigate a huge machine that also turns people into performers and actors themselves.

4pm-7pm | Av. Rodrigues de Freitas/Rua de Passos Manuel | Inspectors

The Clown duo "Le Persil Noir", combine theatre and circus to play the role of two COVID inspectors that measure distances, spray bystanders and blow whistles to make sure everyone complies with the health measures in place while having fun.

4pm-7pm | Rua de Passos Manuel | Seerius

The Marimbondo Company features a somewhat intriguing couple that stroll the streets showing off their offspring. Nobody seems to know where they came from.

The Puppet show Mandrágora presents a show that is filled with fanciful sea creatures. This is a wakeup call to marine protection, to raise awareness to the value of the ocean, whilst paying it a tribute.
