Already in March 2021 the NOS Primavera Sound organisation announced that the festival’s 9th edition would be postponed, as it had been in 2020, due to the pandemic constraints regarding the hosting of large events, and a new date was set: June 2022. Today, 2 June, the festival’s line-up is announced and fans get to know that such bands as Tame Impala, Gorillaz, Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, Beck and Pavement go on stage between 9 and 11 June. All tickets purchased for the 2020 and the 2021 NOS Primavera Sound edition are valid for the 2022 edition.

This announcement happens one week after the Primavera Sound Barcelona - Sant Adrià 2022 announced its line-up. The Portuguese edition of the festival, which happens from 9 to 11 June 2022, unveils its “cast”, which is headed by Tame Impala, Gorillaz by Damon Albarn, Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, the iconic Beck, the Pavement, Little Simz, the new reference of British rap, Kim Gordon and King Krule. The list will be completed within the coming weeks, with the assurance that "there will be over 60 artists with the 100% Primavera Sound label to the much awaited comeback to the City Park”, the organisation stated in a news release.

Music festivals will be back, with rhythm and glory, celebrating contemporary music, with a terrific and amazing line-up with universal sounds, from Jamila Woods’soul to Jawbox’s post-hardcore, from Maria José Llergo Falmeco music to Earl Sweatshirt’s mutant hip hop, from the nomad funk by Khruangbin to the universal house by Black Coffee, "the comeback to Porto will make up for lost time, but also to live the present and to start dreaming of the future”, the news release marks.

The NOS Primavera line-up also includes concerts by King Krule, C. Tangana, Khruangbin, Dinosaur Jr., Little Simz, Earl Sweatshirt, Slowdive, Cigarettes After Sex, Mura Masa, Kim Gordon, Sky Ferreira, Diiv, Black Midi, Jamila Woods and Helado Negro, just to mention a few.

There will also be emergent musicians that will add to the intergenerational festival experience, such as David Bruno, Nídia, Pedro Mafama, Throes + The Shine, Rita Vian, DJ Firmeza and Montanhas Azui, as well as Arnaldo Antunes, from Brazil.

All tickets purchased for the NOS Primavera Sound 2020 and 2021 are valid for the 2022 edition. It is, therefore, mandatory to change tickets from the 2020 or the 2021 NOS Primavera editions to the 2022 Nos Primavera Sound edition. This change should be done at the spots where tickets have been purchased, starting the day of the ticket selling for the 2022 edition and until 31 December 2021, at no cost for the consumer.

As of 4 June, at 12 noon, the general pass and the daily tickets will be available for the NOS Primavera Sound 2022, at 140 euros and 60 euros, respectively, and at the DICE and also at the usual selling points (FNAC, CTT, El Corte Inglés and Lojas NOS).
