The University of Porto is the only Portuguese University to be listed among the 500 world

The University of Porto (U. Porto) is the only Portuguese university to make it to the biggest international league table, according to the Times Higher Education World University Ranking.

The Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2019, released on 26 September 2018, has revealed the world's top universities and there is good news for Porto, as it ranks 401 among the 500 best in the world.

"If you want to study in Portugal, then you need to know which of its universities are right for you. Times Higher Education World University Rankings take the top institutions in the world, and look at their performance across all of their core objectives: teaching, research, knowledge transfer and international outlook.
Portugal has 13 universities in the overall Times Higher Education World University Rankings. The highest-ranking university in Portugal is University of Porto, which is ranked at number 401-500", as stated in the World University Rankings. 

In the Europe Teaching Rankings 2018, the University of Porto is listed among the 198-252 best Higher education institutions.

The World University Ranking 2019 has assessed more than 1250 universities from all over the world, with the University of Oxford and the University of Cambridge leading the score.

These are the only global university rankings to be subjected to full, independent scrutiny as the calculation of the rankings for 2019 has been audited by professional services firm PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC).
