The right to protest inspires Cinema Cycle at Porto Book Fair 2018

Porto Book Fair 2018 features a Cinema Cycle that is forged on the right to protest, the idea of insurgence in society towards a rule of state.
The cinematographic representation on show at the Fair deals with the topic of revolt, rebellion and the valid objection of society and authority. 

"Blackboard Jungle" (1955) by Richard Brooks is the first film to be screened at the Auditorium of Porto Almeida Garrett Municipal Library, on 11 September. It will be presented by Mamadou Ba at 7 pm.

The following screenings take place on 14, 16, 18 and 23 September, at 9.30 pm, also at Porto Almeida Garrett Municipal Library Auditorium. This cycle includes the screening of "Weekend", by Jean-Luc Godard, presented by João Ribas, "Wanda", by Barbara Loden, presented by Cláudia Varejão, "Bad Blood", by Léos Carax, presented by Ana Moreira and "Tie me Up, Tie me Down", by Pedro Almodóvar, presented by João Rui Guerra da Matta.

The uniting theme of Porto Book Fair 2018 Cinema Cycle is the right to protest through culture and music. 

All sessions are entrance free.
