Marina Warner, writer and mythology expert and Beatriz Colomina, historian and architecture theorist present "Sympósion", also known as The Banquet.

"The Symposium" is a philosophical text by Plato dated c. 385-370 BC and features notable men chatting and debating while attending a banquet, such as philosopher Socrates, general Alcibiades, and comic playwright Aristophanes.

The main topic is love, the praise of Eros, the god of love and desire.

"The Symposium" depicts the Socratic tradition of dialogue in light of modern allegories, everyday fare and artistic practice, which are influenced by different viewpoints of love, sexuality, beauty and gender.

From Aristophanes to the Playboy Mansion, this "entretien" is scheduled for 7 November, the day Renaissance humanists staged an annual banquet to celebrate the birth and the death of Plato. This event is curated by writer Shumon Basar.

This session takes place on 7 November, at 9.30 pm, at Rivoli.
