The galleries Nuno Centeno and Quadrado Azul from Porto are part of the Portuguese delegation to the 38th International Fair of Contemporary Art in the Spanish capital, the ARCOmadrid.

From 27 February to 3 March, Madrid and the contemporary world sector will have the opportunity to observe the work developed by 12 Portuguese galleries.

Besides the two galleries from Porto, Nuno Centeno and Quadrado Azul, 10 other galleries from Lisbon will showcase their work in Madrid.

ARCOmadrid gathers a total of 203 contemporary art galleries, and the next edition is devoted to Peru, which will feature 23 artists from 15 galleries, under the theme PeruenArco.

Other than Portugal and Peru, the Spanish organisation collects contributes from different countries such as the USA, Romania, Finland, Chile, Germany, Brazil, Cuba, among others.

The event includes curated programmes, awards as well as professional meetings. An estimated 300 collectors and 200 professionals will visit ARCOmadrid to take part in the parallel programme, which features Peruvian writer Mário Vargas Llosa, one of Latin America's most significant novelists and essayists, and Nobel Prize winner for literature in 2010.
