The Municipality of Porto approves the injection of 80 thousand euros to support the two voluntary fire brigades in the city

The Municipal Executive convenes next Monday, 27th April, via videoconference and one of the agenda items is the 80 thousand euros support to the two voluntary fire brigades in Porto, the Real Associação Humanitária dos Bombeiros Voluntários do Porto and the Associação Humanitária de Bombeiros Voluntários Portuenses. 

In the current situation of fighting the COVID-19 pandemic and given the "continuous availability that both institutions to perform complementary assistance operations", the Executive headed by Rui Moreira proposes allocating 40 thousand euros to each of the fire brigades.

The proposal, signed by councillor of Civil Protection, Cristina Pimentel, considers that both Real Associação Humanitária dos Bombeiros Voluntários do Porto and the Associação Humanitária de Bombeiros "perform na importante role of public interest, in coordination with the professional firefighters of Porto, the BSB [Batalhão de Sapadores Bombeiros do Porto]", thus reinforcing the operational capacity in the scope of aide and protection to the city.
