The Serralves Foundation will host the "Serralves em Festa", the largest event of contemporary culture in Portugal and one of the biggest in Europe. The 16th edition of this initiative will happen between 31 May and 2 June, at the Serralves Museum Foyers and at the Auditorium, also at the Casa de Serralves and at the Serralves Park.

This year's programing includes the Portuguese artist Nídia, the Norwegian Elephant9, the American project Christeene Vale, and many others like Ex-Easter Island Head, Seijiro Murayama and Cristián Alvear, as well as Somali Dur Dur Band and the Portuguese bands Black Bombaim and HHY & The Macumbas.

The main goal of "Serralves em Festa" is to celebrate Serralves as an inclusive venue regarding contemporary art and culture, fostering thought and practices on landscape and environment.

Besides Joan Jonas, the highlight on performing arts, the programme also features Brazilian artist Gustavo Ciríaco, who will present "Cortado por todos os lados, aberto por todos os cantos", the French trapeze artist Chloé Moglia and coreopgrapher and dancer Volmir Cordeiro, among others.

The Education Services of the Foundation organize workshops and tours, as well.

The 2018 "Serralves em Festa" welcomed the record number of 249 thousand visitors, foreign and domestic.

It is worth highlighting that this year, there will be a Free Shuttle Gray Line Porto, departing from Porto Downtown (Aliados), stopover at the Boavista Roundabout (next to Casa da Música) and arrival at Serralves. Transportation is available on Saturdays and Sundays, from 9.15am till 6.30pm.
