Ten years of European Design Awards celebrated in Porto

The "Ten years of ED Awards" exhibition, included in the European Design Awards 2017 programme, will open this coming Friday, 26 May, at Palácio dos Correios. It brings together for the first time in a single venue, the best of the best of Design Agencies and Studios in all of Europe and an agency from Porto is included.

Since its inception that ED Awards have been honouring and awarding the best in several categories. However, for ten years now, only eight studios managed to meet the strict criteria for "European Design Agency of the Year". Portugal is represented in this core group trough portuense R2, which brings together the content of the exhibition.

"Ten years of ED Awards" gathers studios such as Beetroot Design Group, de Salonica (2008 winner); Lava, from Amsterdam (2010); Les Graphiquants, Paris (2011); Silo, Hague (2012); Jäger & Jäger, from Überlingen (2013); R2, from Porto (2014); Ermolaev Bureau, Moscow (2015); and Raffinerie, Zurich (2016).

As stressed by the organisation, this exhibit features "some of the best design projects of communication design at global level".

The show opens 26 May, at 8 pm at Edíficio dos Correios and it will be on view until Saturday, 27 May.

The 2017 European Design Awards Festival tenth edition will be celebrated in Porto, Portugal.
