Students from FEUP-UP will represent Portugal and Europe at the e-Sports & Music Festival Hong Kong, the 2019 League of Legends International College Cup, which takes place from 26 to 28 July in Hong Kong.

The team of the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto - João "JotaC" Azevedo, Nuno "Nunak" Martins, David "Cherrie" Pereira, André "AFM" Martins and Diogo "Calmsky" Sousa - have conquered the European Championship of the League of Legends.

The FEUP Masters team hoisted the League of Legends golden trophy at the University eSports Masters, which took place in Madrid on 15 and 16 June. This was the direct ticket for the final in Hong Kong, where the students from the University of Porto will represent Portugal and Europe.

The team from FEUP was three times winner of the League of Legends University Portuguese Tournament, one of the most played games in eSports (or Electronic Sports).

FEUP-UP students beat teams from the universities of Spain, France, Belgium, Holland, Poland, Ireland and United Kingdom and defeated the German team in the final.

The game was played in a full rom during the GamerGy, one of the largest electronic sports in the European Continent and it took the students from Porto two rounds to beat the German team.

Now, the students from UP will search for glory in Hong Kong League of Legends International College Cup, running from 26 to 28 July in Hong Kong.

It should be mentioned that FEUP-UP students won second place last year, after defeating the Universities of Vietnam, United States and South Korea.
