The seven artists that will present their artwork under the programme of Porto Urban Art have been selected: Diogo Pintampum, Low Class Club, Matilde Cunha, Leonor Violeta, Mariana Bento (Malva), Tiago de Carvalho (Oaktree), and Henrikas Riškas will display their artistic interventions in the city’s public space.

This is in accordance with the Open Call, launched last 12th December. The initiative is implemented by the municipal company Ágora – Cultura e Desporto do Porto.

A total of 33 proposals were submitted, by 28 artists of three nationalities, all residing in national territory. Out of the received proposals, five were eliminated because they were not in compliance with regulations. The remaining 28 proposals, by 24 artists, were evaluated by the members of the jury, which includes the urban artists Hazul (curator of the programme), Ricardo Cannatá (architect) and André Carvalho (Circus Network).

The artistic creations will be displayed in the 14 support structures of the Gardens of Palácio de Cristal, which extend 70 metres throughout the Rua da Restauração. The rule is that there is colour uniformity in the street art palette. The chosen colour is green, with several shades also included.

The selected street art will remain in place for one year.
