Santa Cecilia International Piano Contest announces the winners this Sunday

Porto.

The most promising piano players of the world are gathered at Casa da Música and at the Manuel António da Mota Foundation in the context of the Santa Cecilia Piano Contest. This competition is organised by "Curso de Música Silva Monteiro" and the winners of this 20th edition will be announced on 22 July, at 6 pm, at Casa da Música. 

This event is open to the public.

The semi-finals take place on 19th July and can be viewed live streaming on Youtube.

The young pianists, seeking international recognition, are placed in six different categories, according to age group.

The Main Category winner is awarded the "City of Porto Prize", sponsored by Porto City Hall and a pecuniary prize of 5000 euros, whilst the Junior Category is granted a prize money worth 750 euros.

Besides Porto City Hall, the competition is sponsored by the Government of Portugal, The bank of China (Delegation in Portugal), Manuel António da Mota Foundation, Eng.º António de Almeida Foundation, KNS Classical, Sonae, BPI and Bial.

Winners in the different categories also have priceless opportunities regarding positive career perspectives both at national and international level.

The final concert, where the winners of all categories will be announced, is scheduled for 22 July, at 6 pm, at Casa da Música, with the special participation of Orquestra da Costa Atlântica.
