Portuguese singer Rita Redshoes lights up Casa da Música tonight with her latest album "Her", at 9:30 pm. 

Rita Redshoes is an acclaimed Portuguese alternative pop singer/songwriter who began to show off her talent in 2008 with "Golden Era" debut album.

Born Rita Pereira in Lisbon, Portugal, in 1981, she adopted Rita Redshoes as her stage name and began her musical career in the late '90s as the singer of the band Atomic Bees. 

The band released "Love Noises" and "Kisses" album in 2000 and opened for the Cranberries in Lisbon before going their separate ways.

In the following years, Rita played piano for singer/songwriter David Fonseca on his 2003 tour and was invited to sing "Hold Still" with Fonseca, from his album "Our Hearts Will Beat as One", released in 2006. 

2008 is the year Rita makes her full-length solo album debut as Rita Redshoes with "Golden Era". The "Golden Era" album hit the Top Ten on the Portuguese albums chart, with numerous hit singles, namely "Hey Tom," "Dream on Girl," "The Beginning Song," or "Chose Love".

As a result, Portuguese singer was nominated for Best Portuguese Act at the 2008 MTV Europe Music Awards. 

In 2010 Rita was invited by band Snow Patrol to sing "Set the fire to the third bar" in Rock in Rio Lisbon.

"Her" is the fourth album by Rita Redshoes, released in 2016. Recorded in Berlin, it was produced by Victor Van Vugt, producer of Nick Cave's seminal album "Murder Ballads" and Beth Orton's "Trailer Park", winner of the prestigious Mercury Prize. 

"Her" features songs like "Life Is Huge", "In a While", "Bag of Love" and "Bird Hunter". Rita Redshoes writes and sings for the first time tracks in Portuguese and plays numerous instruments like the piano, the omnichord, the keyboards and the acoustic guitar.
