Following months with Porta-Jazz concerts taking to the digital platforms, tomorrow, 24th April marks the comeback of morning concerts with Porta-Jazz at the Quintal (aka yard). This concert is a delivery driver of enjoyment as we all emerge from lockdown. Around 11 am, pianist Clara Lacerda and bassist Romeu Tristão go live and tell all about their newest work produced during confinement.

On the radar are Saturday mornings, again, with live jazz concerts. The Porta Jazz Association is back at 11 am, while it is not possible to resume the afternoon timetable, at 7 pm.

This first show takes to the stage a work produced at a distance, between Famalicão and Setúbal, during the first lockdown, in March 2020. This is what happens when Clara Lacerda and Romeu Tristão build up a project out of their love of music, inspired by Hank Jones and Charlie Haden’s music, namely their album “Come Sunday”.

The young duo prepared a fabulous concert that relies on intense sounds by Jones and Haden, the songbook by Duke Ellington and musical performances by Thelonious Monk, Marian Anderson, Mahalia Jackson and Nat King Cole, and a fresh note on some of the most famous songs, by means of improvisation and closeness.

There is a gracious suggestion of a 5 euros donation from the public and three euros from members.

Book your seat until 10 pm today.
