The SPES Foundation (SPES meaning Hope, Esperança in Portuguese) has invited three Protestant churches to the closing session of the Conference Cycle devoted to the 500 years of the Protestant reform.

This event will be held at the Foundation headquarters (Casa da Torre da Marca, D. Manuel II Street, in front of Palácio de Cristal), and represents the culmination of a significant debate with the presence of Bishop D. Jorge Pina Cabral, from the Lusitanian Church - a member church of the Anglican Communion; Bishop Sifredo Teixeira, of the Evangelical Methodist Church of Portugal; and Deacon Peter Eisele, from the German Council of Evangelical Churches - Deutsche Evangelische Kirchengemeinde Lissabon (DEKL).

The SPES Foundation is an institution of public utility, created as part of the will by its founder, the iconic Bishop of Porto D. António Ferreira Gomes, at the time of death, in 13 April 1989.

Its main goals are the dissemination of the values that promote LOVE and HOPE, and thus the liberty and dignity of Humankind.
